Have a Safe and Healthy Summer

Our 2016 school program ends on June 3. It's been an exciting year and we couldn't be more honored to have you and your children as part of our RNS family.

Many thanks from all the teachers for sending your children to Riverview!  Every day it was our pleasure and delight to hear sounds of play, see friendships blossom and witness accomplishments and emerging confidence.  Each child has grown by leaps and bounds, literally.

Your family’s generosity was shown all through the year in response to our Care Projects. Thank you.

We'd like to wish you a safe and healthy summer.  And we look forward to seeing you back here in September.  Look for correspondence in August regarding Back to School info for 2017.

For our graduating 4s Classes, there are not enough tissues or hugs to express how much you will be missed here at Riverview. Please come back and visit!

Marks Midnight Run

Dear RNS community,

To the Riverview Nursery School Family from Miss Jeanne

On behalf of my family, and those we have helped, please accept our most sincere and heartfelt gratitude for your donations to our 2016 Marks Midnight Run effort. We were completely overwhelmed and moved by the record donations!

This being our 17th year, I found myself reflecting on what we've been able to accomplish, thanks to YOU and all of our volunteers throughout the years.

With the help of the Riverview Nursery School, and Fieldstone Middle School communities, a partnership we've shared for more than 4 years, we have successfully sorted, bagged, and distributed over 680 large bags of generously donated and much needed warm clothes, hats, gloves, coats, and other essentials, countless toiletries, and more than 500 handmade sandwiches to hundreds of needy people, all of whom have been extremely grateful!

Yet the most significant things we've been able to give them are a sense of respect, that they are not being judged; a sense of hope, that tonight will be a little warmer; and a sense of humanity, knowing that someone cares enough to help them.

I want to send a special thanks to the Board,  for the use of the big room space, Miss Jan, for her continued efforts and support, and Miss Diane, together with her husband Michael, for their invaluable help in making our annual pilgrimage to NYC.

I have also extended a warm thank you to Ms. MaryAnn VanRyn, a teacher at Fieldstone Middle School in North Rockland, as well as all of her exceptional volunteers. They worked to ready the donations, as well as make dozens of sandwiches, which was crucial in enabling us to do it all in 1 night. One of her former students, Brianna, who is now in High School, has been returning and participating for 4 years. She expressed that being involved in this project has really touched her and her family, and is "a great way to give back, and help out less fortunate people."

So again, thank you for your part in making this all possible, and for helping your children understand the importance of helping others! Know this - YOU HAVE CHANGED SOMEONES LIFE!

If you missed this opportunity to donate, please know that we are gratefully collecting donations all year long.

With love and gratitude,

Miss Jeanne and family
